Waste Watchers Directors
Marty has worked for several years as a project manager for Waste Watchers Ltd assisting business and industry groups with resource efficiency initiatives. He has a particular interest in community-based social marketing and zero waste principals. Marty was educated in Canada and holds a B.A. Soc/Psych from the University of Alberta. He has assisted with the development of the Zero Waste Management Programme at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and has been tutor for the Diploma for Environmental Management. He has helped pilot several waste minimisation projects and frequently speaks at conferences on zero waste and resource efficiency initiatives. Marty leads a team of cleaner production advisors and has conducted waste audits on hundreds of businesses over the years.
Bruce has a long history with establishing business resource efficiency programmes in New Zealand. After many years as teacher and school principal, Bruce began assisting local government with school education programmes focused on zero waste education. Since 1993, Bruce has held the contract for waste minimisation education for several local authorities in New Zealand. Bruce is Chairman and co-founder of the award winning EERST Trust, director of Zero Waste Education and Deputy Chairman of the Community Recycling Network NZ. In 2000 was awarded the Round Table Community Award and in 2003 the Tauranga City Community Spirit Award. Bruce has successfully implemented resource recovery programmes in hundreds of schools throughout the country and has accepted several awards for his initiatives in the region.
